Sourcing, Sustainable Doorsets: Timber, Carbon & Compliance

Jeld-Wen UK Ltd

The construction industry continues to change rapidly as sustainability becomes a key driver for design and specification. Clients expect more than just compliance, they want products that improve energy efficiency, meet net zero targets, and have a lower environmental impact.
Doorsets play a much bigger role in this than many people realise. They affect thermal performance, acoustic control, fire safety and embodied carbon.
This CPD will help specifiers navigate the industry changes and understand how to specify doorsets that are responsibly sourced, legally compliant and sustainable. At the end of the CPD, delegates should know more about:
  • Sustainable Timber sourcing and their impacts on the environment
  • Sustainability regulations and certification schemes
  • Specifying sustainable doorsets

A Guide to Modern Lime Render Systems

Fassa UK Ltd

This CPD presentation is designed to guide architects, specifiers, and contractors through the benefits of using modern, factory-produced lime render systems. By challenging the common misconception that these materials are inferior to traditional site-prepared mixes, this session will highlight how contemporary additives, rigorous quality control and consistency have advanced lime render to meet the demands of modern construction.

We will explore hydrated and hydraulic limes and their applications, substrates old and new along with modern and historic applications.
The finishes required to maintain the permeability of the overall lime render build up will also be explored, looking into standards on the various of paint finishes.
We shall also look at the sustainability of lime from the quarry to the finished product.
