Midlands-based DCE CPD is the leading provider of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for building and construction professionals across the UK and Ireland.
The requirement for Continuing Professional Development was formally introduced in 1993, and DCE is the only organisation to have delivered CPD continuously and consistently from its inception to the present day. For more than three decades, we have remained committed to one clear objective: supporting professionals with high-quality, relevant and accessible CPD.
A Legacy That Began in 1993
DCE staged its first CPD event in October 1993, at a time when structured CPD was still in its infancy. From that moment on, DCE became a driving force in the sector.
Between 1993 and early 2020, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, DCE delivered an unparalleled programme of CPD Roadshow events, staging approximately 2,500 individual events at venues across the length and breadth of the British Isles. These events brought together professionals, experts and suppliers in locations throughout the UK and Ireland, making CPD accessible to thousands year after year.
Adapting, Evolving, Leading
When the pandemic brought in-person events to a halt, DCE responded swiftly and decisively. We transitioned to an online CPD format, ensuring that professionals could continue to meet their development requirements without interruption.
Today, DCE delivers in excess of 500 hours of FREE CPD every year, maintaining our long-standing commitment to accessibility, quality and relevance. Our online programme allows professionals to engage with expert-led CPD wherever they are, without cost barriers.

Are the Online events free to attend?
Yes. All DCECPD Online Events are completely free to attend.
Can I attend any event or seminar?
Yes. You can pick and choose which seminars to attend on whatever day suits you best.
Can I pick and choose which seminars to attend?
Yes. Whatever topic appeals and whichever day suits you best.
Do I have to attend all day?
Not at all. You can attend whichever seminars are of interest.
How long are the seminars?
Usually between 20 and 45 minutes, with most presenters providing time at the end for questions and answers.
How do the Online CPD Events work?
Very simple. You register to attend and we’ll send you a registration link to the seminar nearer the time. Most companies use either Microsoft Teams or Zoom format. You then click the link 5 minutes before the presentation starts on the relevant day. On some rare occasions you maybe asked for a Meeting Code and Password which we will also supply in advance.
Do the presentations qualify for CPD?
Yes. Any relevant learning activity can qualify for CPD. All of the presentations should educate and inform, therefore, qualify for CPD.
Are the seminars RIBA approved?
There are a number of third-party accreditation systems: RIBA, CIBSE, Construction CPD Service, and our own DCECPD Accreditation Service, to name a few.
How do I register?
Click on the ‘Online CPD Events’ tab above to view the different titles and dates, click ‘More Information’ alongside to view the full line up and fill in the registration form at the bottom. Your registration will be received and confirmation sent back to you.
Will I receive a CPD certificate?
Yes. For each presentation we send you a Satisfaction Study Form to complete and send back to us. CPD certificates are issued once we have received your completed form.
What is CPD and why do I need it?
CPD is the acronym for ‘continuing professional development’. It describes the learning activities that enable professionals to maintain, develop and enhance their technical knowledge and abilities.
